How is life on Niihau now

In order to preserve the unique life of the natives, the Robinsons not only fenced off the island from the benefits of civilization and the influence of the outside world, but also introduced a number of rules: they forbade all local residents to smoke and drink alcohol, and for men to grow long hair and beards.

Now only 120 people live on the island, who are engaged in agriculture, fishing, and hunting. Niihau is still closed to visitors so that no one disturbs the habitual life of the natives. Even the Governor of Hawaii cannot enter the island without an invitation from the Robinsons. Only recently have the owners of Niihau started organizing safari tours. But visiting hunters are forbidden to intersect with local residents, and the meat of hunted animals cannot be taken with them.
